Choosing a lithium battery

Frequently asked questions

How long does a lithium battery last in Pakistan?

A quality LiFePO4 battery is typically rated for 4,000–6,000 cycles, roughly 10+ years of daily cycling, if kept cool and within its rated depth of discharge.

Lithium vs tubular battery: which is better for solar?

Lithium costs more upfront but lasts several times longer, charges faster, needs no water top-ups and gives more usable capacity, so it is usually cheaper per stored kWh over its life.

What size battery do I need for load-shedding?

Multiply the load you want to run (kW) by the outage hours, then add ~20% headroom. E.g. 1 kW for 4 hours ≈ 5 kWh battery.
